Hi! Thanks for stopping by!
I live in Maryland with my maltipoo and my holland lop rabbit! I have a passion for writing, and prior to writing Gracefully Ill, wrote a essays on emotional wellness, healing, grief, chronic illness coping, and relationships (which you can find across the web!), I always hope that anyone who stumbles across a piece of mine will leave the writing feeling a little bit lighter or feel just a tiny bit more joyful or hopeful, as they make their way through their day.
I studied developmental disabilities and autism spectrum condition in grad school, and currently work for an autism organization where I have the opportunity to advocate for autistic people and create resources and materials in the hopes of to making the world more accessible to neurodivergent people – particularly those who are non-speaking.
I was diagnosed with POTS / postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome in 2013 (during my senior year of college), when I very suddenly started passing out, after suddenly not being able to take my daily run. Over the years, I have ben diagnosed by a handful of other health conditions – including chronic fatigue syndrome and mast cell activation syndrome – both of which also impact my life greatly.
Gracefully Ill is a book filled with encouragement & little lessons I’ve learned on this chronic illness roller coaster – from friends, books, loved ones, and everyone and everything in between. We all have different experiences, but at the end of the day, I think we might see that our lives are more similar than they are different.
I sincerely hope that if you decide to read my book, it brings you a little extra comfort, support, and the knowledge that you are never alone.
I would love to connect with you – please feel free to reach out!
